  “Mobile, Pad, and iCloud—The Rising Technology Trends for Teaching and        Learning in 2020s

Dr. Wilton Fok is the Assistant Dean of Engineering and the Director of the e-Learning Development Laboratory and the Faculty of Engineering in the University of Hong Kong. Dr. Fok and his research team had developed an interactive mobile platform called iClass for the enhancement of real-time interactive teaching and learning since 2011. The project was used not only in the University of Hong Kong but also in many schools and universities in Hong Kong, mainland China, United States, United Kingdom and Singapore. The project awarded the Hong Kong Information Communication Technology Award in 2011 and 2013. Dr. Fok also received the Best Teacher Award from the Faculty of Engineering in 2010, the Outstanding Teaching Award (Team Award) in 2014 and the Faulty Outstanding Teaching Award in 2015. Dr. Fok is also an invited keynote speaker of the 6th Annual International Conference on Education & e-Learning.

Dr. Daniel Churchill is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Education and the Head in Division of Information and Technology Studies in the University of Hong Kong (HKU). He is teaching in the areas of educational technology in classroom teaching and learning, instructional design methods, design of e-learning, learning objects and multimedia. His current research interest is in design of interactive visual learning objects, mobile learning, teacher change and social media in education. Daniel’s multidisciplinary interest is a product of his versatile experience and educational background that include university qualifications in the areas of Mechanical Engineering, Law, Modern Languages and Literature, Education, Instructional Design, and Interactive Multimedia Technologies. Meanwhile he is the Program Director of MSc (IT in Education) and MSc (Library Informaton Management) programmes in HKU.

Since leaving teaching after 22 years of service in primary and secondary schools in 1998, Dr. Jim Albright has undertaken research in Canada, the United States and Singapore. Dr. Albright has contributed sociological perspectives to literacy and literacy education, curriculum theory and design, and professional learning and school reform. As an Early Career Researcher, he won a competitive grant from the Spencer Foundation in 2001 (US$30 000). Before joining the University of Newcastle, Dr. Jim Albright was the prime investigator for two large intervention research projects in Singapore (S$ 850 000). His most recent research focuses on developing teacher capacity across subject areas through building the conditions necessary in schools for innovative teaching and improved student performance. “Preparing teachers to integrate ICT in teaching and learning: A Singapore’s Perspective”

Dr. Doris Choy is an Associate Professor in the Learning Sciences and Technologies Academic Group since 2005. She received her Doctoral of Philosophy in Educational Technology, Curriculum and Instruction from Purdue University, USA. She teaches pre-service and in-service teacher education courses in areas of ICT integration and Classroom Management. She also teaches graduate level courses related in Instructional Design, Project Management, and Educational Research. Her areas of research include: ICT integration in teaching and learning, teacher education, professional development, and instructional design and development.

Keynote Speech Topic:

“Starting the first Video and Computer Game Museum in South East Asia to enhance students’ learning”

Originally from Italy but now based in Singapore, Dr. Roberto Dillon is the author of different books on computer games history and development, including “On the Way to Fun” (AKPeters), “The Golden Age of Video Games” (CRCPress) and “Ready. A Commodore 64 Retrospective” (Springer). Currently, Dr. Dillon is an Associate Professor at James Cook University where he lectures game design and project management subjects. Earlier in his career he was the Chair of the Game Software Design & Production Department at the DigiPen Institute of Technology (within the Singapore Institute of Technology) and also held appointments at the Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) and the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. Besides academic teaching and research work, he is also active as a game developer, with his games being showcased at events like Sense of Wonder Night in Tokyo, FILE Games in Rio de Janeiro and the Indie Prize Showcase Asia.
